“New Folk Art” features a colourful collection of work from around the world that draw from ancient folklore and traditional craft, and breathe new life into tales that have been passed down the generations. We are honoured and excited to preface the latest release of @victionworkshop “New Folk Art”. Alongside our foreword of the book, you will find an extended interview and case study on 111 Elies branding, identity and illustrations – explaining all of our process from ideation and documentation, until final completion of the project.
“New Folk Art”, verifies that it is the human nature to look to the past when seeking inspiration — particularly in art. Unlike other genres that can be attributed to a specific era or style, folk art is harder to define or categorise due to its special place in the hearts of local communities. Although it used to be created for practical purposes, each piece tells a story of cultural heritage and craftsmanship that transcends time to inspire the creatives of today.
