Rookie is a smash burger shop in Thessaloniki, Greece. In a saturated market, we built a bold, unapologetic brand rooted in classic diner culture, Gen-A slang, and raw graphic expression. Always a rookie by mindset—never an amateur by execution.

Rookie is a smash burger shop based in Thessaloniki, Greece, serving classic American diner dishes, smashed burgers, and Detroit-style pizza—with attitude. In an oversaturated food scene, our objective was to build a brand that cuts through instantly. No nostalgia-for-the-sake-of-it, no overdesigned aesthetics. Just something bold, raw, and unmistakably confident.
The concept is rooted in a simple mindset: always a rookie, never an amateur. Curious, hungry, and experimental—but serious about execution. This idea shaped both the verbal and visual identity.
We leaned into Gen‑A and internet-native slang to give the brand a voice that feels current, playful, and slightly irreverent. Short, punchy statements act as graphic elements, designed to live loud across packaging, interiors, and digital applications.
Visually, the identity is built around crisp black and white typography paired with gritty halftone textures, referencing classic diner menus and underground print culture. Strategic pops of red add energy, appetite appeal, and contrast—used sparingly for maximum impact. The packaging system was designed as a brand amplifier. From burger wraps to pizza boxes, every surface carries strong typographic compositions, halftone patterns and high-contrast graphics, ensuring Rookie is instantly recognizable on the counter and in the street.
The result is a confident, youthful branding and packaging system that embraces imperfection, celebrates process, and stands out by owning its voice in a crowded market.
