Almito antipasti & spreads.
In Greece, meze is more than food — it’s a way of life. Almito captures this tradition with bold Mediterranean spreads and antipasti, from smoky eggplant with feta to sun-dried tomato and creamy cheese. Vibrant colors, rich flavors, and authentic recipes bring the spirit of sharing and hospitality to every table.
The philosophy of 'meze'
In Greece, ‘meze’ is not just food or simply a snack — it’s a way of life: sharing, diversity, pleasure. In bite-sized plates, served small, ‘meze’ is served as a precursor to main courses, appears as day-long snacks, pairs beautifully with ouzo and tsipouro, or brings zest to meals as a relish or a garnish. It is the Mediterranean way of eating: bold, flavored, every day and social. This spirit of giving and sharing is the focus of Almito spreads and antipasti lines of products, which blends authentic antipasti and spreads intended to capture the intensity of Mediterranean flavor in a modern, visually pleasing presentation.
The “Almito Spreads” range captures the hedonistic character of ‘meze’ in products like smoky eggplant spread with feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes with feta chesse, and sweet red peppers with creamy cheese and others. Our design response translates the indulgent, spreadable character of these products into soft, painterly visuals that are welcoming and bountiful in nature. Rich colours drawn from the ingredients themselves — aubergine purples, tomato reds, and earth neutrals — evoke instant appetite response and emphasize the natural radiant quality of Mediterranean fruit and vegetables. Warm, rounded, organic typography adds to the feeling of warmth and welcome that is at the centre of ‘meze’. The visual language positions the spreads as tasty additions to bread, main dishes, or platters for sharing, conveying the true hospitality of the Mediterranean table.
For the “Almito” range featuring cream cheese fillings, the look captures the marriage of the fresh and the rich. The rough-hewn drawings have the earthy color of peppers and the tender insides of them, conjuring up images of tactile sweat and honesty. Bold, rich illustrations mimic the earthy hues of the vegetables, while contrasting typography emphasizes the overall composition. Typography throughout is firm but human, with quiet imperfections that recall homemade preparation of the antipasti and of the meze culture. Together, the antipasti and the spreads reflect a cohesive Almito collection: vibrant, authentic, and handcrafted. The branding speaks not just of a product, but an experience — inviting sharing, indulgence in flavor, and respect for the Mediterranean way of eating well, together.
